Surgical Management of Uterine Fibroids: About 175 Cases

Background: Uterine fibroids are a common condition in Senegal and often symptomatic. Our study aims to determine the epidemiological profile, clarify diagnostic aspects evaluate surgical management of patients with uterine fibroids. Patients Method: We carried out retrospective descriptive over period 30 months, from August 1, 2017 January 31, 2020, concerning all who underwent surgery for treatment myomatosis department Gynecology Obstetrics Hospital Principal Dakar. The data was collected patients’ medical records analyzed using Excel version 2016 R 4 software. Results: 175 interventions fibroids, representing 44.7% gynecological interventions. Most were between 39 years old, an average age years. nulliparous majority 64.6%. clinical symptomatology represented by genital bleeding (32.6%), pelvic pain (18.85%) infertility (12.6%). diagnosis confirmed ultrasound variable myoma topography. A myomectomy performed 82.3% cases total hysterectomy 17.7%. postoperative course simple 94.2% cases, results revealed disappearance symptoms 94.3% cases. Conclusion: Surgery occupies prominent place
